A Mission Experience Serving at Camp David is much like a missions trip in the rustic Ozarks, but with inner-city youth, many of whom have never heard about Jesus. We wholeheartedly believe you will find it to be life-changing as you are stretched spiritually, emotionally and physically. You will give your all to show campers the love of Christ. Being on the Camp David Team is a fun, rewarding experience that could change your life forever.

Camp Theme Our 2012 theme is the Olympics. The motto is “Run to Win!” 1 Cor. 9:24-25 “In a race all the runners run. But only one gets the prize… So run in a way that will get you the prize. All who take part in the games train hard. They do it to get a crown that will not last. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” Life is a race we only get to run once. The prize to be won is of infinite value, and there is everything to be lost. For a runner to win he must be willing to give it everything he has, he invests everything he’s got, and he must leave it all on the track. Will you run to win?
Basic Camp Schedule Each week of volunteer service begins at 4:00pm Sunday evening, and continues through Friday until you are dismissed at 4:00pm. If you are from out of town, there will be provision for you to stay at camp over the weekends. Special permission is needed from the camp director for any times of absence of any staff and should be limited to matters such as a death of a family member (This does not include dentist appointments, concerts, part-time jobs or other activities that a staff member wishes to leave for). Learn more about Weekends and Sunday Night Activities.
Prayer and Financial Support We ask that you raise prayer and financial support for your time of service, just as you would if you were going on a mission trip overseas. To raise the support, we need you to bring an electronic EXCEL spreadsheet of 20 –30 names and addresses of family and friends (either on a flash drive or CD) to staff training. We will coach you in writing your support letter and the office team will mail it out. If you wish to do this before staff training, you can send us your electronic addresses and letter, and we’ll mail them. Your goal is to raise $100 per week of service. This is a faith based endeavor and the amount of support that God sends in does not affect whether or not you can be on our team, but we ask that you make the effort to share the need and allow others to partner with you.
Share Your Testimony We need some staff members each week during camp to share their testimony (story) of God working in their life. Hearing from each other will really encourage the campers and fellow staff in trusting God more. Please begin praying about what God would have you share, and bring your testimony form to the Staff Training.
Medicines
Please inform the nurse if you are on any medication and keep the medicine in the nurse’s station and be responsible for taking it. The nurse will not hunt you down to give you your meds!
We look forward to hearing from you soon. If you get your application sent in by April 30th you will get an ice cream sundae at Staff Training!
