Camp David of the Ozarks - Kitchen Help

Volunteers

Kitchen Crew

Many of our campers know what it like to have to go hungry. For this reason the food is often mentioned as a favorite part of camp! At camp they get three cooked meals a day, and there is always enough for seconds!

Kitchen Crew
The Kitchen Crew is made of adults and mature young people ages 16 and older.
Reports To: Food Service Director
Who You Serve: Food Service Director, campers and staff
Responsible For: Helping to prepare and serve meals and take care of the kitchen.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Spend time alone with the Lord everyday; be in the Word! Pray together with kitchen team.
  • Be on time for your shift and be sure that things are completed before leaving.
  • Help Food Service Director (FSD) prepare food each day.
  • Clean up kitchen– put food away, clean counters, etc.
  • If you have children on the Green Team, be sure to communicate what times you will be there & any special needs with the Green Team Leaders.

Full time or part time
It is very nice when volunteers can come for an entire week, and work both the morning and afternoon shifts. Please consider taking a week off work and joining the kitchen crew! Lodging would be provided if needed.

We are also grateful for all the volunteers that can come in part-time for either a morning or afternoon shift, or a full day once or twice a week. You let us know how available you are, and we will plug you in! Also, because the Kitchen Crew is set up in shifts it is possible to work one kitchen shift per day, and volunteer as a camp “Auntie” or help with housekeeping the remainder of the day.

Your Children- Green Team!
If you have children between the ages of 2-12, you can plan to volunteer in the kitchen, and CDO will provide a “Day Camp” experience for your child. A Green Team day begins at 6:30am when the cooks arrive, and ends at 7 pm. Please be sure to register your children for the Green Team at least a week in advance.
